Patriots sign Chris McDonald- Nick McDonald's brother
Undrafted free agent Chris McDonald, a guard from Michigan St. has signed with the Patriots. McDonald was an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection and started a total of 39 times, 30 of those in a row to finish his career.
An interesting stat is that McDonald played more offensive snaps his senior year than any other offensive player. He played 881 snaps out of 888, that comes out to 99% of all offensive plays. Pretty impressive. He was the rock for the Spartan offensive line, the only lineman to start all 14 games and had 43 knockdowns which was the third best on the team. The coaches awarded McDonald the Downtown Coaches Club Award for being the most outstanding senior on offense. He was named to the watch list for the Outland Trophy before the season which is given to the best interior lineman in the country, that shows this guy has some game. Even though he isn't a big name signing and nobody knows if he will even make the roster, he seems like a pretty solid signing for the Patriots.
