Felger is referring to Reiss's comment about Wes Welker's agent being partially at fault for the mishap in contract dealings. In response, Mike Reiss called in to dispel these rumors and defend his integrity as an objective sports writer.

I really like what Mike Reiss was saying, and I love seeing him show some emotion. The details of this whole Welker deal are still murky to me. Reiss says that Welker and the Patriots were so far apart on how the market would assess his worth. However, when Welker decided to test the market, the Patriots moved on, and Welker ultimately realized that the market was where the Patriots expected it to be. It is a shame that the deal could not get done, because it seems like both sides were in favor of getting it done. Still waiting on what Tom Brady thinks...
