Bucs are flying Dashon Goldson in on a private jet
Early signs point to the coveted safety joining second-year draft pick Mark Barron in the Buccaneers secondary, making for what should be a dynamic young tandem at the position.
Not only are the Bucs the first team to meet with Goldson; he will be flying in style: the Bucs have reportedly chartered a private jet to bring him to their facilities in Tampa Bay. According to the same article from NFL.com, this is reportedly a method of persuasion they have used to woo previous big-name signings, including Vincent Jackson. The article also states the team is looking to ink a long term deal with Goldson and that could be announced as early as Wednesday.
So basically, it looks like with the expected contact, Dashon Goldson will be able to afford his own private jet by weeks end, and will be the a fixture in the Tampa Bay secondary for years to come. This is a much needed acquisition for the team. Like the Patriots, their secondary play was horrendous last year, and were ranked worst in the league in pass defense.
While the Patriots were never really in the running for Goldson, it brings to light how concerning the situation is in their secondary right now. As I have said since the beginning of the off-season, I think the team should invest the majority of the money they have available in free agency in the defense, a unit that is clearly preventing them from winning another ring. I'm not concerned about the offense. As long is Brady is healthy I think they will continue to amongst the league's best on that side of the ball.
Goldson was the most talented safety available in the free agent pool. Next up: Mr. Reed. Go get him Bill. The way you two talk about each other I think you can woo him without a private jet.

Goldson had 55 tackles and 3 picks last season in San Francisco |
