Well, this was unexpected. Still, Bolden hasn't practiced since the Seattle game with a knee injury so who knows when he would've come back anyway.
The injury coupled with the four game suspension should do a decent job at stunting the running back's growth in an otherwise really solid looking rookie season from Bolden.
At this point let's just hope he can find his rhythm again in time for the playoffs. We'll update this post when word comes out on what substance he was caught for, but since it's only four games it's probably something minor (like Adderall).
Bolden did have character concerns coming into the draft (he went undrafted).
Still, don't overreact to the news. Remember the same thing happened to Brandon Spikes in 2010, he wasn't looked down on by Bill.
Belichick isn't going to bench Bolden for this.
