Wes Welker says his postgame comment was just a joke and that he and Belichick have a good relationship

Clearly a feeling that its been blown out of proportion.

Hearing Wes Welker feels badly his "stick it in Bill's face" comment causing a stir. Joke aimed at Ty Law, Troy Brown who were in studio

Welker continued, looking super annoyed, by saying he'll keep future jokes "in house."

Exactly what I thought it would be. If you follow Wes Welker on twitter, you'll know the guy has a sense of humor. Which was also evidenced by his recollecton of why Tom Brady said "Fuck you bitches" on the sideline last week.
I thought it was pretty obviously a joke, however I also knew that the Boston media would go wild and try to blow it out of proportion. Look at the above tweets, they're really pretty funny because of how absurd this became.
I hate this in sports. Players can not say anything anymore. They can't even make a joke. It's really a tragedy because everyone comes off being so bland. The media curses Belichick and the Patriots for constantly speaking in generalities and cliches, but then as soon as one of them breaks from that, they get blasted. It's insanely stupid that everyone would be so damn sensitive.
