Mark Sanchez out does Tom Brady...wait what?!

That's right. The Patriots may have looked almost perfect yesterday, but Mark Sanchez had a slightly better game than Tom Brady according to ESPN's quarterback rating stat.

Both teams blew out their opponent, though the Pats defense undoubtedly had a better day. The Pats won 34-14 while the Jets had a 48-28 victory, though they blew that wide open early so most of the Bills points came with the game well in hand for New York.

James Walker, ESPN:
Here is a look at the Week 1 QBR for quarterbacks in the division:
Sanchez, New York Jets, 97.1
Brady, New England Patriots, 90.4
Fitzpatrick, Bills, 20.4
Tannehill, Dolphins, 3.1

Sanchez was 19/27 for 266 yards, three touchdowns but did throw one interception. He also was not sacked once, a surprise for a team whose offensive line looked miserable in preseason and was going up against Mario Williams.

Brady was 23/31 for 236 yards and two touchdowns. He did not turn the ball over but did take a sack.

I wouldn't count on Sanchez topping Brady in that category every week, but you have to be impressed with the Jets victory. I told you their demise was being overblown.
