Visanthe Shiancoe will meet with the Patriots
Free agent Visanthe Shiancoe will meet with the tight-end rich New England Patriots on Thursday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The Patriots are stockpiling tight ends but at least they're stockpiling good ones. First it was Jake Ballard (who likely won't play until next season) and now it's Shiancoe.
If Visanthe signs with the Pats, it could be a steal. I know his production has gone way down since his 56 catch, 11 touchdown year with Brett Favre in 2009. Still, so has the Quarterback play in Minnesota since then.
This is still nothing to get overly excited about, there's a reason the nine year veteran is still available. However, if the Patriots feel he's good enough to sign on a roster already loaded with very talented tight ends, he could potentially really help this team.
