The Jets weakness is the Patriots strength
Remember when the Patriots had LaRon Landry in for a workout? He was supposed to have surgery but decided not to so that he could play this year. He ended up signing with the Jets, which looked at the time like it could really help that safety position. However, it doesn't look like Landry will be healthy for training camp. If the Landry signing turns out to be a mistake for the Jets, they are in trouble.
On the ESPNNewYork Jets blog, Rich Cimini has this to say about the Jets safety position that should get Patriots fans excited.
The Jets have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but the Patriots strengths on offense have become focused on the one part of the field that they are weak. The middle.
Sub-par safetys just simply can not match up with Aaron Hernandez or Gronkowski. The Patriots offense is more dynamic this year too with the addition of Brandon Lloyd. That puts a lot more strain on those corner backs as now both Cromartie and Revis will have their hands full with a talented receiver.
Still, this doesn't mean the Patriots will just walk over the Jets. In the past the Jets have countered the Patriots passing attack by disguising their coverages and dropping almost everyone back to protect the pass. The running game will be key to counteract that, and that happens to be a big question mark for the Patriots.
Rex Ryan also likes to bring the heat on quarterbacks, mostly through disguise. That's going to take some good communication on the offensive line, another position that the Patriots have some questions at.

Potential weakness: Despite a makeover at safety, the same question persists: Can these guys cover anybody? Bell and Smith graded out poorly last season in pass coverage, and Landry ... well, who knows? He's coming off a mysterious Achilles' tendon injury that likely will limit him in camp. When you play safety for the Jets, you're bound to get picked on because opponents try to avoid Revis and Cromartie and funnel the ball into the middle of the field. The Patriots' Rob Gronkowski, noted dancer, probably is preparing his TD-celebration dance as we speak.
