53 Questions About the Pats - Part 3

On to part three of our breakdown of the Globe's 53 questions about the Pats. We covered part two yesterday. Off we go:

21. Was Will Allen just brought in for competition? Well, sure, but he is also a potential slot corner option, so it's a bit more than that. I do like the idea of a Dowling/McCourty starting combo with Arrington in the slot, but Allen probably has value when teams go to 4 wides.
22. Can Kyle Arrington pull seven interceptions out of his hat again? Not really sure what that means, but why not? With the ball in the air all the time, and a lot of crappy QB's, the opportunity is there for him to equal that number.
23. Is Josh Barrett a capable safety? Probably not.
24. Can Marquice Cole shake up the secondary? My first response to this was "who?" And are they asking if he shakes it up positively or negatively?
25. Will Alfonzo Dennard’s impending trial on charges in Nebraska, including assaulting an officer, have any affect whatsoever on his standing with the Patriots? At all? Um, no, if he is guilty, he's gone. 26. Does Deion Branch still have it? Have what? The Globe writes that "it" is the "gusto to shimmy his way across the field and catch passes in traffic." First of all, who says shimmy? And second, sure, he has the gusto.
27. Is this Ron Brace's year? For what? To get cut, perhaps. To have an impact ... going with doubtful on that one.
28. Will Jermaine Cunningham even get a shot? Sure, he'll get a shot. He was hurt last year and I'm not sure everyone realizes how much the lockout affected 2nd year guys like Cunningham. Having said that, we'll see.
29. Is Kyle Love the answer opposite Vince Wilfork? In certain situations, sure. But it all depends on the question to know if Love is the answer.
30. How will Marcus Cannon fit into the Patriots' plans? He'll be a backup. If he starts there might be trouble.
