Vince Young poses no threat to Patriots in Buffalo

"We're looking always to try to improve our team," [Buddy] Nix said. "It's a competition for the backup quarterback job and not the starter ... he knows it. That's the way it is.

"The guy's been to two Pro Bowls, he's 31-19 as a starter in this league," Nix added. "We think he can do that again. If he has to play, he can give us a chance to win the game or at least this: He will make Tyler better."

Vince Young's career has certainly come tumbling down. From starter in Tennessee to backing up Michael Vick in Philadelphia, and now to battling for a back up spot behind Ryan Fitzpatrick in Buffalo.

Young has always shown huge potential, he's had some great moments in his football career, and personally I always used to root for him before his final year in Tennessee. However, it became obvious that he didn't have the maturity to be a successful quarterback in the NFL, despite his winning record as a starter.

If you had heard Vince Young was coming to the AFC East maybe even four years ago, it might've seemed like a bigger deal. However, no one has confidence in this guy as a starter anymore, in fact he might not even beat out Tyler Thigpen for a backup role in Buffalo. Even if he were starting for the Bills, the Patriots would have no reason to worry after destroying the Eagles 38-20 last season with Young starting.
