Patriots sign Chandler Jones
The New England Patriots announced today the signing of first-round draft choice DE Chandler Jones. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Jones, a defensive end from Syracuse, was selected by the Patriots in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft with the 21st pick overall.
Jones, 6-5, 265 pounds, was a three-year starter at Syracuse, who finished his career with 147 total tackles, 10.0 sacks, five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. As a junior in 2011, he was named All-Big East after finishing with 38 total tackles and 4.5 sacks despite being limited to just seven games.
Awesome news. Now Dont'a Hightower and Jake Bequette are the only rookies remaining without a signed contract.
